“I have dreamed of visiting India for years and this year my husband surprised me with a special birthday trip. It was one of the most magical experiences - I highly recommend it - made all the more perfect by our stay at Aman-i-khas. It is technically a camp, on the borders of Ranthambore National Park, but accommodation is as luxurious as any of Aman’s brick-and-mortar hotels. There are ten ‘tents’ - 108 square-metre structures with six-metre canopies. They are beautifully decorated and can be air-conditioned or heated.

A big-ticket trip where you have the time to dedicate to exploring both this area and other parts of India.
This made a great romantic trip, but there were also families and the kids seemed awe-struck by the culture and the wildlife.
Tiger sightings are rare, but we were lucky enough to spot one. Unforgettable.
Best time to go
Open October through April, which is the best season for wildlife spotting.
Again - tiger sightings are rare - don’t be disappointed if you don’t see one as there is plenty of other fascinating wildlife
