Borgo Egnazia

PUGLIA, ITALY

“I am by no means a creature of habit, especially when it comes to travel, but I recently returned from my second stay at Borgo Egnazia in Puglia, and I’m already plotting a third. From the accommodations to the amenities and activities, Borgo Egnazia is the ultimate luxury retreat for everyone, from my husband to my four-year-old daughter. While this isn’t strictly a family-oriented getaway, my experience there has been among the best in large part due to the exceptional staff’s ability to make this place a relaxing/neat destination for parents with kids in tow.

Most impressively, my daughter seemed equally thrilled with our stays (though she expressed this sentiment by crying upon our departure, whereas I held back the tears…mostly) and thoroughly enjoyed the mini club for children which gives kids age-appropriate ways to enjoy the stunning environment while their parents luxuriate. On this trip we tried out a villa, which offered much more space than the three of us needed, but it would’ve been a shame to pass up such gorgeous, high-quality accommodations, complete with our own terrace and three story stone staircase! The food was delicious, though room service was especially pricey. The Michelin-starred restaurant provided a special culinary experience, while the pizzeria-style restaurant was particularly family friendly. We spent most of our time at the resort; I was more than happy to wile away the hours in the spa trying out new treatments while my husband put in a lot of time on the golf course. Each family member came away from Borgo Egnzia itching to go back, having had great individualized experiences as well as plenty of bonding time together. It was impossible to go wrong, and we can’t wait to go back!”
