Cairn Lodge & Hotel
“The perfect place for a life break. We visited for a weekend and wished we’d had longer. The entire lodge is quite chic, which was unexpected but a pleasant surprise. Our room was spacious and elegant, with a beautiful bathroom (I loved the giant bathtub!) and fabulous sitting area. It was very chilly when we visited so we didn’t make any plans for the weekend, which worked out just brilliantly! We lounged and read and enjoyed the hotel, restaurant and bar. I should also mention how kind everybody on staff was, really made us feel at home. If you can make it to this area and need a little break...”

A couple nights of bliss; go to get away and simply relax – in style, of course.
Dinner at The Grill Room was fantastic! I was shocked that a small hotel like this would have such incredible cuisine. The ingredients are all seasonal and locally sourced, but the shining star is the Josper Grill after which the restaurant is named. Be sure to order a grilled main – I’d recommend the filet or the sea bass. From the minute we sat, the restaurant was full and lively, clear that this was a destination even for non-guests. Breakfast was also divine.
Best time to go
This hotel can be enjoyed any time of year it seems, cozy up and enjoy the lodge in the cooler months, or take advantage of the local activities (golf, bike riding, falconry) in the warmer ones.
If you’re looking for the typical lodge experience, dark wood, blazing fireplaces, antique leather chairs... Cairn may not be the place for you. This is a modern take on lodging, very sleek, more glam.
