“My two girlfriends and I live in three different countries and decided to meet up in Amsterdam for a long weekend in the middle of each of our business trips. Amsterdam was the perfect hub for flight connections and none of us had ever been before. The Conservatorium Hotel came highly recommended, it turned out for good reason! We knew we were in for a treat as soon as we arrived. The staff was excellent with assisting us, answering our questions, and making recommendations for how we should spend the next few days.
We were so lucky that they upgraded us to the penthouse suite which was fabulous: two levels, exposed wood beams, marble bathroom, oversized soaking tub and amazing city views. The location of the hotel was also perfect for those new to the city. The Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum are extremely close, a supermarket around the corner, lots of great restaurants, and an easy walk to the canals. More than one night we visited the hotel’s Tunes bar for late night snacks and cocktails, which boasted an impressive bar and DJ. The place was full (not too crowded) of hip and young people and we danced the night away. The breakfast provided was also pretty great, and satisfied our healthy cravings or when we wanted to indulge after one too many cocktails the previous night.”

This place was great for first timers such as ourselves! The staff is phenomenal and really made our trip with their spot on recommendations.
This was the perfect place the stay with girlfriends, but we saw a few teenagers around too. The fun décor would make it a great place for family.
We didn’t have high expectations, but the spa was actually fantastic. We all had treatments done and were extremely relaxed before hitting the streets to do a bit of sightseeing!
Best time to go
Summertime was great for riding bikes and seeing everything, but would love to visit in the fall once the color changes a bit.
It’s about a 15 minute walk to the city center, but we found this a positive as we didn’t want to be right in the middle of everything.
Rooms start at $450 per night, depending on dates.
