Four Seasons George V

"Do Paris the truly Parisian way... marble floors, pale colours, tapestries and antiques, crystal chandeliers and wonderfully high ceilings. Much-loved by travelers and locals alike. Genuinely impressive: service is scarily impeccable. Two-Michelin star restaurant and every imaginable business facility, as well as mini amenities, special toiletries and children's menus for kids.”

Great for
Business, play or family trip

With whom
Anyone; suits every circumstance

Memorable moment
Being driven in the hotel car to our restaurant (there was not a taxi in sight) – complimentary and with a smile.

Best time to go
They say 'Paris in the Spring' for a reason... I love this city in the autumn around all of the art openings.

Be aware
This is central Paris where the tourist crowds congregate. The hotel is not to everyone's taste – very French and fanciful.

Room options
Many have terraces which offer excellent views. The Honeymoon Suite overlooking the Eiffel Tower is the most romantic; the Presidential Suite has its own office and gym. Double (standard) rooms are even well above average.

Service & vibe
Typical Four Seasons: stellar service

Two Michelin-starred in Le Cinq: traditional French dishes and surprisingly un-stuffy service. Don't miss their tea service on a rainy or cold afternoon.

Price Range
From €750

To Do & See
So much... who could summarize this city to a few lines? Wander the streets, shop the boutiques and fill yourself with delicious patisserie. Each season has its wonderful goings-on.

Sport & Activity
Paris has plenty of parks for jogging, Jardin des Tuileries is part of the UNESCO World heritage site on the banks of the Seine.

Spa & Grooming
Excellent spa and indoor pool surrounded by a mural of Versailles. The all-white relaxation room is hard to leave...

To Eat
Too many options for even a 6 month stay... Lively and inventive cuisine at Le Restaurant de Pierre Gagnaire (6 Rue Balzac, Champs Elysées; +33 (0)1 58 36 12 50), or something more classically French from famous Basque-inspired Taillevent (15 rue Lamennais, Champs-Elysées; +33 (0)1 44 95 15 01). Take a post-prandial walk along the river to Ile Saint Louis and tuck into de-lish ice cream at Berthillon (29-31, rue St Louis-en-l'Île; +33 (0)1 43 54 31 61).

To Buy
What not to buy...?! Fashion-forward clothes and accessories at Colette (213 Rue Saint Honoré, Tuileries;, bespoke men's shoes from Dimitri Bottier (c/o Crockett & Jones, 14 Rue Chauveau-Lagarde, Madeleine) and antique books along the river bank.
