Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva
“I lived in the nearby countryside of Geneva for ten years and frequently visited Les Bergues. I'd go for lunch on the hotel's sunny, picturesque terrace, and as a meeting place in the serene Les Bar des Bergues, sometimes even as a lucky guest at a lavish cocktail party. This historic hotel has always enjoyed a top reputation, but since its impressive renovation in 2005, it has rightfully become Geneva's most desirable address. It is superbly situated on the bank of Lake Geneva and within clear view of the world's tallest fountain, the Jet d'Eau. Just a short walk to designer boutiques, the financial district and a most charming Old Town. Experience comfort, beauty and unsurpassed service at this classic landmark.”

A luxurious stay, either business or pleasure, in one of Europe's beautiful Belle Époque hotels. Enjoy magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the Alps and feel close enough to explore the region's rich bounty.
Alone or with that special someone, you can always expect the full attention of the great staff.
With a few steps into the hotel, I was hit by the intoxicating perfume of the gorgeous flower displays in the lobby... Delightfully unforgettable.
Best time to go
Spring is a perfect time to dine outdoors and stroll through the lakeside parks. Also autumn, when Indian summer can be quietly enjoyed in bliss.
Occasionally, the lower floors can be bothersome with chatting from La Terrace.
Good to note
Visit in September and you may catch the Festival of the Vine: a downtown celebration of the autumn harvest, filled with food and wine tastings, bountiful flower markets, romantic carriage rides, live music and entertainment - such fun!
115 guest rooms and suites, all featuring the style and vision of interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The epitome of elegance, each room is bright and airy - a fabulous contrast to the rich décor and furnishings. All accomodations are large and comfortable with all the modern amenities. About a fourth of the rooms are suites, most boasting a wide step-out balcony and sprawling views of the lake. In addition, the hotel provides highly trained and qualified personal assistants to meet the needs of its suite guests.
Service & vibe
Absolutely impeccable service with a sophisticated European vibe. A friendly accommodating staff attends to your every whim, maintaining a high standard of service.
There's nothing quite like a delicious meal in a stunning setting. Il Lago offers just that. The Northern Italian restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, dishing out the finest of tastes. With a menu that features the freshest products and ingredients in both classic and imaginative Italian dishes, a table at Il Lago is a destination in and of itself. Visit during truffle season, and you'll be blown away. Fancy some lighter fare? Not to worry. Le Bar des Bergues offers a simpler all-day menu as well as outdoor seating on the secluded Terrace.

Sport & Activity
With plans to open in early 2013, the hotel's rooftop Fitness Centre will offer state-of-the-art equipment for any kind of workout. This includes a new glassed-in swimming pool for year round use with panoramic views to complete the setting. The new facilities will offer top-level fitness trainers as well as nutrition and life balance instructors. Yearly membership to the Fitness Centre will also be offered to a select few.
Spa & Grooming
A fully equipped spa will also be part of the new Fitness Centre. Guests will be able to choose from a heavenly selection of massages, facials and body works for the optimum in relaxation. Bistrot Dumas in Champel - great Southwest French cuisine, chic bistrot, fab wines. Mirtillo - Italian stylish in Vessy, fab food. Cafe des Bains in Plain Palais, trendy bistrot in Art district. New-style cuisine, Petrus, tres chic! Brand new French restaurant next to place-Neuve, Luigia, hottest current spot in GVA (Rive), pizza-pasta in loft style space. Count on 30 min wait, no bookings taken. Cheap and great. Floor Two @ Kempinski, best terrace in town, DJ music. Decent food, go for atmosphere.
Some classic greats:
Try a quality steak at the famous Le Relais de l'Entrecôte or a cozy Italian meal at La Favola. If you really want to treat yourself, reserve a table at Michelin-star rated seafood restaurant, Auberge du Lion d'Or - fine dining at its best.
Visit Patek Phillipe or Piaget for a first class look into Geneva's historic watch industry; then pop into Arn Chocolatierie or Chocolats Rohr for a taste of the country's decadent confections. Watches and chocolate, talk about the ultimate indulgence. Rue du Rhone and Rue du Marche are famous for their designer retail stores and people watching; while Grand Rue in the Old Town is the place to go for art and antiques.
I especially love the neighboring countryside. Its rolling vineyards and bucolic atmosphere are an absolute delight. It's easy to arrange a tour of the many Domains and Chateaux in the region, or drive along the Route du Vignoble for spectacular views of cozy villages and content cows. If you're one with a sweet tooth, a visit to Chez Tristan in Bougy Villars is a must. A chocolate lover's paradise!
