Hotel La Plage Casadelmar
“Being a fan of the original Casadelmar, I was excited to try this newer outpost from the same owner. It’s a lot more low-key than the original, focusing on beach relaxation rather than classic luxury (no gym, for example). Still, the pool deck and private beach are the places to be in Porto Vecchio at the moment - but they still manage to feel exclusive. Loved the design - contemporary cool merging natural materials with slick white walls, floors and furnishings (rooms 41, 42 and 43 have the best beach access).
The fresh, simple food served in the restaurant is a real treat and complements the relaxed, beach club vibe perfectly, although if you want something smarter, there is a shuttle boat across the bay to Casadelmar (dependent on water conditions).”

Sneaking back after a day/night’s partying with the jet-set crowd.
Best for couples or adults - not much to keep kids occupied.
Taking the hotel’s speedboat out for a day of exploring islands and snorkelling - beautiful and peaceful.
Best time to go
Summer is the fashionable time to visit Porto Vecchio but I prefer the shoulder seasons, when the weather is warm but the crowds haven’t descended.
Although it is very cool and chic, the emphasis is on low-key style: green tea rather than champagne to welcome you and a beach rather than night-club vibe.
