Hotel Marques de Riscal
“There is nowhere quite like the Marques de Riscal. It’s not new, but it is just as awe-inspiring every time you visit. The exterior was deigned by architect Frank Gehry and is unlike anything else in the world - undulating, multi-coloured metal set in waves across the surface of the hotel, catching the light and making it do wonderful things. Set against the backdrop of the medieval town of Elciego, it is a marvelous sight. However, this hotel has much more to offer than design - it is a great place for discovering the Rioja area and its vineyards. If that’s not enough oenophilia for you, the Caudalie spa has treatments which use grapes and wine - it's an unusual experience which you can find in few places in the world, and worth indulging. Local produce of a different kind is on offer in the restaurant, accompanied by wines from the hotel's own estate.”
