Inn at the Presidio
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
“Each summer my husband I take advantage of the chance to steal our two college-aged kids away on a family trip, and we wrapped up our recent trip to San Francisco with a long weekend in The Presidio. Having spent almost a week in the city proper, The Presidio was a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle. We wondered whether it might get boring for the kids, and within hours of settling into our spacious suite those concerns vanished.
This spot is the ultimate in luxury without pretention. Accommodations are generously sized and the building itself is full of character and charm without being too trendy. We all fell in love with the local village in which increasingly wonderful restaurants are sprouting up, and getting to hike and bike in the national park was a wonderful contrast to our stay closer to the city center.”

We got lucky weather-wise, but early fall is your best bet for consistently good weather, which is key with all of the time you’ll be spending outdoors
The second and third floors are walk-ups, so less ambulatory travelers will want a room on the first floor.
