Mandarin Oriental Boston
“Boston is somehow underrated! It is one of the country’s most charming, culturally interesting and easy to navigate small cities and is great fun with the kids to boot. My recent short stay at this property was a pleasure from A-Z — made special by the staff; their warm, professional welcomes and ease of communication without being stilted. I look forward to enjoying the property for a longer time, whilst making time for the amazing looking spa! Top-notch Boston stay — doesn't get better from what I can tell in this town, with its wonderful location that is multi-purpose from fun to biz to academia interests.”

15 minutes drive from Logan airport, a short walk to Back Bay station (Acela express trains), in the middle of the Newbury shopping street/Copley square area, walking distance to many of Boston's famed historical sites, 5 minute walk to the Charles River Esplanade for jogging & cycling paths, an amazing private art collection within hotel walls... you get the picture!
Solo, as a couple on a cultural/ sports or academic mission — and don't leave the kids at home if they are the right ages and temperaments to enjoy this varied, easy-going city
Eaves-dropping on the conversation next to me, whilst "power breakfasting" with a former work associate — on: the Dean of Harvard!
Best time to go
Winters can be very chilly but tend to be sunny. Fall is gorgeous with the varied colors and Autumnal feel in the air — Summer hot but manageable.
M Bar & Lounge get packed after work. As a hotel guest, you are given priority over non-guests. Asana's chef's table is absolutely the perfect private table in Boston (at a hotel that is!) Peer onto the kitchen to see the action.
