Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND

“Talk about feeling at home! Guest services personnel at this resort are top notch and we found that they often anticipate your desires before you even think of them yourself! Mixing relaxation with cultural immersion can sometimes be a difficult task, but the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Devi truly has it all to make this a simple reality. Villas are often frequented by month-long visitors who find it to be the perfect setting for self-discovery. After our week in a beautiful two story residence, we wish we had planned to do the same.”

Room options
The property has numerous unique villas, suites and residences each appointed with such attention to detail and displaying select local artwork. There are a variety of colonial suites where some offer views of the property's incredible architecture, while some have private terraces. Many of the teak wood villas offer stunning views of the rice paddy fields and others have private plunge pools and gazebos. We found it to be an incredible experience waking up early to watch the sunrise over the rice paddy and see the water buffalo go through the fields.

Service & vibe
The entire staff was incredibly attentive and truly gracious. Our room was made three times a day but only at times while we were out as not to inconvenience us during our stay. The staff is truly invested in helping you make the most of your time here – however you may choose to do so!

Food
You don’t have to go far to enjoy some of the best food we have had in Thailand. As above, be sure to dine at Le Grand Lanna, the Mandarin Orientals Thai Restaurant which offers an incredible setting on the terrace beneath rain trees. Every night at 8pm you can experience traditional Thai music and dancing while sampling some unique northern Thai dishes. Also on the resort property is Farang Ses; Chef Dominique Bugnand’s renowned French dining experience. Be sure not to skip breakfast at Akaligo where they serve a beautiful breakfast (especially the homemade yogurt and fresh honeycomb) overlooking the hotel grounds.
