Mission Ranch Hotel & Restaurant
“A converted dairy farm, restored by Clint Eastwood, the Mission Ranch is quaint, comfortable and full of charm. We drove up for an extended weekend spending three days enjoying the beautiful views – mountains, meadow, ocean – tennis at the club, walks to town, dinner on the patio, drinks at the piano bar. Our whole stay was just lovely. And I was so happy with our room, sweet and rustic, it had a fireplace that I spent early evenings by reading in my bathrobe. I recommend requesting one of the newer rooms, which also include Jacuzzi tubs, patios, or balconies, as the others are in desperate need of TLC.”

A Carmel-area base from which to explore and enjoy this stunning region.
A romantic getaway for two or with the kids (only if they appreciate the outdoors and farm-setting)
Our first morning my husband and I had a light breakfast at the tennis club. The courts looked so inviting that we had to reserve one for later that afternoon to hit a few balls. Courts with views of the ocean and mountains, at only $10 a person…just about as good as it gets.
Best time to go
Spring and fall are the best! The summer fog is a drag and winters can get wet and chilly.
This is simple and rustic, without any real ‘hotel amenities’ – it is not for those seeking upscale luxury – this is about simplicity. The restaurant is fun and tasty (great bar scene!), but gets quite busy.
From $140 - $325 a night
