Oustau de Baumaniere
“One word: glorious. It all began with a drive up the gravel path to a stunning Provençal building, blue skies and stone cliffs in the background. After a speedy check-in (with the kindest concierge, a trait we found among each staff member on the property) we settled into our spacious bedroom and sunk into the beautiful comfort of it all. The rest of our stay was a dream. From our days spent soaking in the sun with intermittent dips in the pool to our evenings of wine and food and incredible rest.
I should take a moment to acknowledge the cuisine here! Simply superb. Dinner at the 2-Michelin starred restaurant each night was divine. We also loved breakfast in bed… nothing better than a latte and the paper, croissants, butter and jam. Truly a special stay, one of the best getaways my husband and I have had in Provence.”

A romantic, visual, country escape - this is the land of Picasso, Cezanne, and Van Gogh – the setting is nothing short of picture perfect.
Sipping l’Affectif, the estate’s own wine, nestled up by the fireplace after our delicious meal in the vaulted dining room – the late-night evening was the epitome of romance.
Best time to go
It’s very nice in the summer, but autumn and early spring are the best for quiet and coziness.
The room interiors are simple and clean, with contemporary hints throughout. I personally love this style, but some may be expecting more print and color in Provence. If your looking for a room with a bit of character, book a suite with a tree in it – so whimsical to have a tree growing out of your living room floor.
