Red Horse Mountain Ranch
“Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, this ranch feels truly cowboy – well, apart from the luxury lodges, seven-course dinners and massages... We came because we wanted an outdoors adventure without compromising on comfort and service. Red Horse offers exactly that. Our family of five were kept well-occupied with riding, fishing, hiking, shooting, pottery and mountain biking. The staff are wonderful and even coaxed my nervous youngest to get onto a horse.
We loved the log cabin style of the suites, it felt rustic, but we didn’t miss any of the comforts of home. The White Pine cabin was a great choice for us as a family. Dinner is usually buffet style, which suited the kids perfectly. However, is was nice to have the opportunity for some ‘us time’ at the weekly adult-only wine dinner, knowing the great staff were taking care of the little ones.”

Family fun in the great outdoors.
Take the kids – they’ll love it.
A mountain trail ride – it was steep and a little stressful but well worth it in the end.
Best time to go
The ranch only operates between May and October.
Most activities are scheduled, which means you have to fit in with when they run, but it is all organised excellently.
