Sanctuary on Camelback
“Whilst Phoenix is not in my Top 10 favorite places to visit, I’d happily return to this lovely resort for assured sunshine, easy access to hiking, great fitness facilities and wonderful food. Our casita was comfortably basic, very spacious and cosy with two fireplaces for evening chill time. Staff is very helpful, the spa services are excellent, the daily tennis clinic fun & challenging. Easy, affordable resort for sporty types.”

An active, restful holiday for 3+ days. Leave the kids at home unless they are 14+ years old and like to hike
Best as a couple, with group of friends or solo for a healthy, reading books and exercise-intensive type of break.
The colors in the sky as the sun was rising whilst I was swimming laps in the Sanctuary’s lap pool were unforgettable.
Best time to go
Live on the East Coast or Europe? Go for clear, crisp sunny climes from October through April. Live West Coast? You’re spoiled anyhow... so go anytime. The backdrop of the red rock Camelback mountain is stunning and dramatic.
As I alluded to above, Phoenix is not a cultural, nor a gastronomic center. It is however easy to reach, easy going and enjoys approx 300 days of sunshine per year.
