Soho House Chicago
“I was visiting a girlfriend for her birthday and got us a room at Soho House in Chicago. It was an experience to say the least! Certainly not your average Chicago hotel. There are so many amenities – a cinema, roof top pool, gym, club – you could easily never leave the property. We had a Saturday morning brunch, which had a pretty impressive spread, and afterwards enjoyed the rooftop. It was a jumping scene definitely geared towards 20 somethings. Be sure to arrive early however, if you want a seat. We barely made it just in time! It’s also pretty noisy so it’s not quite the pool where one would go to relax and seek serenity.
After the pool we headed down to our room which had a bar with crystal glasses, mixers, shakers, etc. The hotel has a complimentary bartender who arrived to the room with a fully stocked bar cart and mixed us the perfect cocktails to start the night off right. Talk about room service! Next, we ventured downstairs and had dinner in the Tavern Restaurant (I never turn down a dish with truffles!). The staff was so charming and attentive, it made our perfect day that much better. Then, we headed out on the town. The hotel is situated in an area with lots of great bars and restaurants so it’s the perfect spot to start out before venturing out into the city.”

Enjoying luxury with a young crowd.
With friends. This is a neat place to spend a night away and catch up over cocktails and a fun scene
For my friend’s birthday, we treated ourselves to a “pretty party” in their Cowshed spa. We had the place to ourselves for two hours and enjoyed prosecco, facials, pedicures, manicures, back massages, and left with gift bags full of their amazing products. It was the perfect girly pampering session and great ending to our trip.
Best time to go
As a west coast girl, I try to stay away from Chicago in the winter. Any other time would be perfect weather!
I want to stress that this can be a bit of a party hotel with the young crowd, and those coming home from bars at 5am. If you’re looking for a peaceful and tranquil stay, this isn’t your place.
