“High up in the hills of Corsica, this is laid-back luxury with oodles of style. I loved the decor: thoroughly Mediterranean - yet also throughly modern. The hotel is sleek in white and grey, dotted with the owner’s collection of Anish Kapoor artwork and Paul de Pignol sculptures and other works by artists such as Daniel Arsham and Wendy Wischer. Rooms follow suit: contemporary, comfortable and undeniable Corsican, with views over the Gulf of St Florent. The flip side of those views is that there is no easy access to the beach, but there is a lovely infinity pool and plenty of space for walking, sitting and sunbathing. The property is also very well-placed for exploring the region.”

Discovering what this pretty island has to offer away from its beach scene.
Best for couples - private, intimate and exclusive.
The fantastic restaurant isn’t very well-known outside the local area, but the chef (who trained with notables such as Joel Robochon) serves amazing market-fresh food. The best tables are on the edge of the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean below - very romantic...
Best time to go
September is still warm, but the crowds have gone.
Although Corsica is often a beach destination, this is not a beach hotel.
