“Uma is heavenly. We love the style, the décor, the views, the food... and the team! It's such an extension of home that it hurts to leave. Ubud is a magical part of Bali and Uma has everything on its doorstep – we loved shopping for art, clothes, and furniture, all a stroll from our forest haven.”

Relaxation, culture, romance, singles.
I’ve stayed at Uma alone, then on a romantic trip, and also with a group of girlfriends, and the place caters well for all of these. The one thing I would say is that there can be a lot of stairs, depending on which room you stay in so if you are bringing children speak with the hotel to arrange a suitable room to save yourself some hassle.
The hotel arranged a guided walk from Uma to the sister hotel Como Shambala, through rice paddy fields and local villages. Our guide was just brilliant, so caring and professional. Shambala’s view was phenomenal, but we were still more than happy to return home to Uma... it's a lot more intimate and serene.
Best time to go
May - October is brilliant weather: blue skies, warm and yet cool breezes. Ubud is up in the hills so it's cooler and more pleasant than by the beach, but the sea is not far and is visible from some of the rooms.
