“This hotel only opened last summer (2013), but it is already a big hit. The 13 rooms have been built inside a 1930s summer villa. The exterior is beautifully ornate, in a Venetian style, with terrace gardens leading down to the sea. I loved spending lazy afternoons reading and watching the water, or people-watching in the old Town from the grape-vined terrace.
Inside it is more modern, with a clean, neutral décor. The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed and the small number of rooms keeps it intimate and friendly. Book one with a terrace and a sea-view – nothing beats sitting out there before breakfast. There are similar views from the restaurant, which serves refined local cuisine either inside or on the terrace.”

Best time to go
Late spring when Dubrovnik is just waking up to the tourist season.
There is no pool, but the hotel has a private beach at the bottom of the hill. Guests can also use the pools at two neighbouring hotels.
