“After a 4 year, multi-million dollar renovation, this unique, boutique hotel met my expectations and then some for style and service. Located within walking distance of Tanglewood, in Lenox, MA, the Wheatleigh is the perfect antidote for those seeking a little ‘Europe’ in the heart of a very American village. Originally built in 1893 as a summer cottage, this Italian palazzo, set on 22 acres with pool and tennis court is everything you need for an elegant get-away. The Lobby is stunning with its high ceiling, original fireplace and ornate crown molding and the spacious nineteen suites and guest rooms are a blend of quality antique and custom furnishings.”

An overnight stay or longer – especially if you have tickets for a summer or fall performance at Tanglewood. The staff is happy to prepare a picnic basket filled with your choice of salads, dessert and wine. Blankets and bug repellent will also be included in your basket to make it even more comfortable for you to sit on the grass and enjoy a delicious repast. If you choose to dine in, there is a choice of the Main Dining Room or the more casual but equally tempting, The Library. In winter, guests can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on nearby trails as well as downhill skiing and snowboarding. Other nearby attractions include Jacob’s Pillow, Shakespeare & Company and the Berkshire Theatre Festival.
Need some quiet time away from New York City or Boston? Wheatleigh is only 2.5 hours away. Planning a wedding? The entire Palazzo can be rented with 24 hour customized service.
Comfortably seated on the impeccable rolling green lawn, sipping a freshly prepared lemonade and hearing the classical sounds of a Tanglewood rehearsal program in the distance.
