Aurelio Lech

"Some of the best days I've had – ever – in a ski resort. And that's saying a lot! The sleek yet cosy interiors are perfect for staying warm while watching others on the slopes (great views from the balconies and Licca lounge) and the fab spa is just the thing after slopes. Sophisticated. A worldwide favorite of mine."

Great for
A delectably stylish ski-stay with top service and contemporary style.

With whom
Either as a couple or with a few friends.

Memorable moment
Walking through the adjunct Chalet next door owned by Aurelio's owner (and available to rent) If you can afford it – do it!

Best time to go
Ski season is prime, but the mountains and this town are stunning in the summer — and less crowded than more 'obvious' summer destinations.

With the kids
Not the best option in the area for kids — not much for them to do in the hotel and the vibe is more adult.

Be aware
Food is good but I wish it was simpler fare.

Room options
Just 19, all wooden-paneled, chalet-style. Balconies over the ski slopes. Cozy and modern at the same time — impressive photo collections; no expense spared on the materials used here.

Service & vibe
High staff-to-guest-ratio and a wonderful GM keeps things slick, but charming and professional.

High-quality, fresh and delicious. Gorgeous breakfast.

Price Range
From €550

To Do & See
Lech village is adorable.

Sport & Activity
Ski! Cross Country trails are wonderful winter wonderlands. In summer, take hikes around the area, swim in the 60m heated outdoor pool, play golf... More to do than you might think!

Spa & Grooming
Impressive for such a small property. Fitness center, 23 meter indoor pool, saunas, plunge pools and treatments.

To Eat
Modern classic at handsome Bentleys Stube (Haus Nr. 78, 6763 Zürs am Arlberg; +43 5583 24 63) or take a romantic horse-drawn sleigh to 500 year-old Alter Goldener Berg (Upper A-6764 Lech am Arlberg; +43 5583 22050).

To Buy
Lech has plenty of ski shops and some cute boutiques but don't miss Strolz — four floors of ski rental and purchase, designer goodies including some incredible handmade boots.

Super Services
Private airport transfer from Arlberg Express (

Itinerary Idea
Combine Lech with a Zürich business or pleasure trip
