Casa Palopo

“This was our first time in Central America and we really did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is right on the lake and offers amazing views of the water and surrounding mountains, including some volcanoes. And the location couldn’t be any better - you have access to many small towns right on the lake via boat. This is a perfect stay for experiencing Guatemalan culture with amazing views of the area.”

Great for
Part of a longer trip in the region.

With whom
Leave the kids at home! This is perfect for a private, romantic getaway with your partner.

Memorable moment
The boat tour around the lake- we visited San Pedro, San Marcos and San Juan.

Best time to go
Although it is considered part of the rainy season - June through August are the busiest so try for April and early May when the weather is just as beautiful but the area is less crowded.

Be aware
This is not a kid friendly hotel - no children under the age of 15 permitted. It is simple and in the middle of nowhere, so leave expectations of top service at home!
