Clayoquot Wilderness Resort

“Canada as it should be — lux camping with serious style and various options for wildlife and environmental exploration. Loved the huge canvas tents filled with proper Adirondak beds, antique furniture, remote-controlled propane fireplaces, composting toilets, oil lamps and wooden boardwalks. Really make sure guests get the most out of their time here: the activities director will sit with you each morning and plan a personalised itinerary, from horseriding or kayaking to whale or bear watching. Good eco credentials, too.”

Great for
Getting into the great outdoors without sacrificing comfort

With whom
Good family option — so much for kids and adults to do and enjoy. Equally very romantic...

Memorable moment
Getting within a few feet of a bear from the safety of our boat — magical, once-in-a-lifetime stuff

Best time to go
Pacific Grey whales migrate to the area March and April

Be aware
8 of the 20 tents still have old-fashioned compost toilets. They are private to each tent and are right outside. The rest have ensuite toilets that flush.
