Fairmont Mayakoba

“Beautiful resort which looks after its environment as much as its guests. Ever had your round of golf interrupted by an iguana before? Tropical casitas with bright fabrics and dark woods, set amongst a lush lagoon. Feels very private. Be sure to take a trip into the mangrove jungle with the resident marine biologist for a tuly memorable experience.”

Great for
Experiencing the real Riviera Maya without too much of a ‘resort’ feel

With whom
Take the kids for a wildlife trip they won’t forget

Memorable moment
Soaking in the outdoor hottub at sunset — bliss.

Best time to go
Good weather year-round — slightly better December-April, slightly wetter September & October (but quieter)

Be aware
It’s a spacious place — sometimes a little too spacious, there can be up to a mile between lobby and some rooms. But there are staff with golf carts on hand to give you a lift. Service could be a little slicker.

Price per night
From $360
