Half Moon Resort

“I’d never been to Jamaica! After some last minute research to plan a fun trip following Thanksgiving, a tennis buddy and I grabbed a Jet Blue flight to Montego Bay for 3+ days of sunny fun. Half Moon was a nice surprise. By no means is it luxurious and chic, nor is it terribly stylish. What makes it lovely are the old-fashioned qualities of this grand dame of the Caribbean resorts with the kindest, most adorable staff that are like family to one another. This is a real family resort – an easy one with the kids. Stay in a suite near the pool with private terrace (garden or upper floor) overlooking the beach.”

Great for
A good value family break in the sun that is easy to access and easy going whilst there!

With whom
Bring the kids! There is a lot for them to do between swimming, water sports/toys, a great tennis center and the best of the best... swimming with dolphins right on the property in a large but enclosed space.

Memorable moment
My first dunk with the dolphins was pure magic. They let me glide with them underwater and one kissed me on my cheek – many times!

Best time to go
Ideal weather for the most part from November through April.

Be aware
Breakfast food is good, lunch and dinner leave a lot of room for improvement...

From $295 per night
