Hotel Crillon le Brave

“This little gem off-the-beaten path has all of the charm one would want from the Provence experience, with the feel of staying in a large country home. The scrumptious food, breathtaking views, cobblestone walkways, and Provençal decor are as delicious as the surrounding lavender fields. We loved the sundrenched breakfast room with it’s open airy feel and scrumptious fresh baked breads and preserves. This 32 room Relais & Chateau is a property that oozes charm, pays attention to the small details, and fosters relaxation.”

Great for
Good relaxing base for exploring Northwestern Provence. Avignon, Chateaneuf du pape, Vaison La Romaine, and the Lavender Route are all a short hop away.

With whom
Your lover or family. The rooms seemed to be occupied by romantic duos but we also saw families, who enjoyed the beautiful pool and easy, relaxed ambience.

Memorable moment
Sipping from a bottle of gorgeous Rosé while dipping our toes in the refreshing pool. After a morning of trekking through Avignon, it was heaven!

Best time to go
July and August are hot hot hot. Come in the spring or fall to enjoy the wine harvest and beautiful air during that time of year.

Be aware
Part of Crillon le Brave's charm as a town is that it is quaint and small. The hotel is situated adjacent to a church. So some rooms have to overlook it... and hear the bells ringing bright and early. Make sure you ask for a room overlooking the valley, not the church.
